My Wife Loves This Commercial. I am Not Kidding, Loves It.

Hmmm. She just admitted she likes the smell of Old Spice. I guess she doesn't know that only teenagers use it. Guess I know what I'm getting in my stocking this year.

Lacrosse: Philadelphia Wings vs. Buffalo Bandits

Wings lost to bandits, 11 to 13. The wings started off really well and let their lead disappear. :-(

Zenni Optical Eyeglasses Review

These are the glasses I received from Zenni Optical. They were very inexpensive at $8 for each of the "normal" frames/prescriptions and about $25 for the goggles. I needed new glasses because my obscenely expensive designer frames, Oakley and Versace from LensCrafters, both broke after less than a year. :-( My wife told me about Zenni Optical after hearing about them through the grape vine. Their website is fairly straightforward and I only had to wait about 3 weeks to get my order from Hong Kong/China. The glasses fit nicely, are fairly good quality, and the prescription seems to be spot on. Overall, I give them a solid B+. I would have given them an A, but 3 weeks is a long time to wait. Total cost: ~$50 for 3 glasses and shipping.

PS Yes, I know my glasses are kinda nerdy or BC glasses (birth control glasses, meaning I won't get laid in them). The goggles are for when I am riding my bike/motorcycle and/or running.

Philadelphia Eagles "Fans" Pummel San Francisco 49ers Fans with Snowballs

I hate this crap and it's exactly why I will never support Philadelphia sports teams, especially football and baseball. This is a lot of juvenile crap. At times, I really dislike being associated with Philadelphia in any way... this being one of them. Philadelphians shouldn't have to wonder why people don't like coming to Philly, especially for conferences and sporting events. This is a perfect example of typical thug behavior on display at sporting events.

Two Monks and a River

This is one of my favorite parables. It is the story of two monks, a lady, and a river. My buddy Ivano told it to me a long, long while back. There are many versions of this story and the versions cross religions and cultures. Here is a version that is closest to the way I remember Ivano telling it to me...

A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her.

The senior monk carried this woman on his shoulder, forded the river and let her down on the other bank. The junior monk was very upset, but said nothing.

They both were walking and the senior monk noticed that his junior was suddenly silent and inquired "Is something the matter, you seem very upset?"

The junior monk replied, "As monks, we are not permitted to touch a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?"

The senior monk replied, "I left the woman a long time ago at the bank, however, you seem to be carrying her still."

I hope you like this story as much as I do. I was reminded of this story because of something that is going on in my life right now and I think the lesson taught in this parable is applicable to the situation.

Wife's Holiday Party on Spirit of Philadelphia 2009

Pictures before launch and of people at the table. I probably should have taken more pictures, but there was a lot going on.

A short video clip taken on New Jersey and Philadelphia while standing on the top deck. It was cold that night. We got 16 inches of snow the next day. The next video is very loud.

Another short video out on the dance floor. It was very loud. Turn your sound down. Sorry.
